Meet Heather

Meet Heather Irby:

We have recently contracted with Heather to provide therapy alongside Ashkin Counseling. Heather graduated from Nova Southeastern University’s Counseling M.S program. Heather is a Registered Clinical Mental Health Intern specializing in treating teens and adults with processing trauma, substance abuse, PTSD, and anxiety.

A note from Heather:

I strive to create a nonjudgmental, safe space where the emphasis is on how best to support you. I use an existential approach focused on finding meaning in experiences, as well as finding freedom from what has been holding you back from living authentically. I borrow techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy to find connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as well as exploring and challenging core beliefs which motivate these interactions.
